Fans of retro gaming should head to the Vodafone PLAYzone Arena in Prague on Saturday, October 10. Up to 32 players will face off in the legendary strategy game StarCraft: Brood War as part of the PLAYzone Challenge tournament. Don’t hesitate to come check out how this game—which is more than a quarter-century old—is played.

The organizers from the CZSK Starcraft League and the Vodafone PLAYzone Arena invite all gaming enthusiasts to the PLAYzone Challenge—a tournament featuring the legendary RTS title StarCraft: Brood War. The event will take place on October 10 at the Vodafone PLAYzone Arena in Prague and will be held as an on-site LAN tournament. The tournament capacity is 20 to 32 players, so don’t wait to register. Registration must be confirmed by paying the entry fee and filling out the registration form.

You can arrive at the Arena as early as 9:00 a.m.; the tournament itself will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the group stage. Players will be divided into groups, and the group assignments will be announced before the tournament begins. We’ll post information about which room to go to on our community Discord once registration closes—you’ll also find all the latest tournament updates there.

As for equipment, we recommend that players bring their own keyboard, mouse, and headphones. However, if you don’t have your own peripherals on hand, the Vodafone PLAYzone Arena will lend them to you completely free of charge.

The entire tournament will be streamed live at twitch.tv/playzonecz and twitch.tv/czskstarcraft. Fans are also warmly invited to support the players in person—matches will be screened in our Lounge completely free of charge, with no fees whatsoever. You can also grab a bite to eat at the adjacent PIXEL Burger.

We also recommend registering for the tournament on CZSK Starcraft to help us collect statistics on individual players.

Players are required to have up-to-date Battle.net account information.
